May 26, 2015 - The fatal shooting of a burglary suspect at 8525 Westcott about 9:45 p.m. last Friday (May 22) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The male suspect was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers D. Williamson and S. Glaze reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a reported shooting in the 8500 block of Westcott.  Upon arrival, they met the caller, who identified himself as the owner of the business currently under construction.  The business owner told officers he shot the suspect as he was burglarizing his property.
