May 7, 2015 - The fatal shooting of a man at 5014 Balkin about 3:15 a.m. today (May 7) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased suspect, 36, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants R. Rodriguez and J. Robles reported:

The resident of the above address was working on his vehicle at the above address when he was confronted by the suspect.  For several years, the victim and suspect had been involved in a relationship with the same woman.  This morning the suspect became upset about the situation, confronted the other man at his house, and began to assault the resident with a hand gun.  The victim then drew his own handgun and shot and killed the suspect.  The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
