March 24, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10000 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 3:15 a.m. today (March 24).  

The female driver and her male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene.  Their identities are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Lee and Senior Police Officer S. Martinez reported:   

A silver Buick Enclave was traveling westbound on the Katy Freeway service road and struck a gold Ford Focus traveling northbound on Gessner.  The male and female inside the Ford died at the scene.  The driver of the Buick was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in an unknown condition.  

At this time, it has not been determined which vehicle ran the red light at the intersection.  

The investigation is continuing.
