Investigation into Incident at 1504 Taub Loop
July 27, 2015 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman at 1504 Taub Loop about 4:50 p.m. on Sunday (July 26).
The female, 29, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital. Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officers S. Spivey and L. Bailey reported:
The female was arrested on a charge of public intoxication of an unknown substance and, after being examined at the scene by HFD paramedics, was transported by a patrol officer to the HPD Southeast Jail at 8300 Mykawa. Upon arrival and before being booked into the jail, the woman was found to be unresponsive. Jail personnel immediately began performing CPR. HFD paramedics were called and transported the woman to Ben Taub General Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Autopsy and toxicology results are pending examination by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
As is customary in in-custody deaths, this incident is being investigated by the HPD Homicide and Internal Affairs Divisions.
