Investigation into Fatal Crash at 5100 Airport Boulevard
July 7, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 5100 Airport Boulevard about 10:30 p.m. Monday (July 6).
The identity of the female victim is pending notification to family members by the the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Senior Police Officer S. Martinez reported:
The driver of a green Ford Focus was traveling westbound on Airport Boulevard when she lost control, veered across both lanes, left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver stated her brakes had failed and she pulled her emergency brake prior to the impact. The front passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital via Life Flight helicopter where she pronounced dead at the hospital. Two rear passengers were also transported to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. The driver did not show any signs of intoxication at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
