Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9421 East Avenue K
July 6, 2015 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the fatal shooting of a male at 9421 East Avenue K about 7:50 a.m. on Sunday (July 5).
The identity of the victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M.L. Holbrook and Senior Police Officer P. Vela reported:
Two male friends were sitting outside at the above address and drinking alcohol to the point of intoxication. One of the males sustained a gunshot wound to the head and died at the scene. A gun was found next to the victim's body.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been determined, pending further investigation and autopsy results on the victim.
