February 2, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11100 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 1).

The identity of the deceased male victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer K. Hines reported:

The driver of a black Chrysler 300 was traveling westbound on the East Freeway when he struck a pedestrian (victim) walking on the main lanes of the freeway. Further investigation indicated the victim had been involved in a minor two-car accident and had attempted to flee that accident scene when he was struck. The driver of the Chrysler did not show any signs of intoxication and was released at the scene without charges.

The investigation is continuing.
