Fatal Crash at 3200 Sage

The identity of the male victim, 29, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer T. White reported:

Witnesses stated the victim appeared to be intoxicated when he broke several windows at a restaurant near the above address and then ran south on the sidewalk on Sage Road.  The victim lost his footing, stumbled into a moving lane of traffic and was struck by a red Hyundai Accent traveling north on Sage.  Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.  The driver of the Accent showed no signs of impairment and was questioned and released with no charges filed at this time.
