Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6700 West Bellfort
August 31, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash at 6700 West Bellfort about 5:15 a.m. today.
The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer J. Perrotte reported:
The victim, a pedestrian, was crossing West Bellfort at the above address (unknown if he was in a crosswalk) when he was struck by a black Mitsubishi Montero Sport traveling eastbound on West Bellfort. The driver of the Mitsubishi remained at the scene and told investigators he had a green light at the time of the crash.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this incident and there are no charges at this time.
The investigation is continuing.
