Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12600 South Freeway
August 24, 2015 - Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12600 South Freeway (State Highway 288) about 9 p.m. on Sunday (Aug. 23).
The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Senior Police Officer J. Gaona reported:
The victim was driving a green Mitsubishi Galant at a high rate of speed northbound on the South Freeway when she left the roadway and struck a TxDOT sign. The vehicle continued to travel in the grassy median before striking a light pole.
The investigation is continuing.
