Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Shooting at 1111 Blalock
August 19, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 1111 Blalock about 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 18).
The suspect, Mario Abigail Ramirez (H/m, 23), is charged with murder in the 184th State District Court. A photo of Ramirez is attached to this news release.
The victim, Aileen Gardenia Nava, 23, of the above address, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Elsbury and Senior Police Officer R. Martinez reported:
HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address. Upon arrival, they were met by Ms. Nava's boyfriend, Ramirez, who told officers she had shot herself. Further questioning by HPD homicide investigators developed Ramirez as a suspect in this case and he was subsequently arrested without incident.
