Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 5900 North Sam Houston Parkway East
August 19, 2015 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal crash at 5900 North Sam Houston Parkway East about 12:40 a.m. on Sunday (August 16).
The suspect, Jaqualyn Moses (b/f, 33), is charged with murder and intoxicated assault in the 183rd State District Court. Suspect Moses remains in the hospital and a photo of her is not available for release at this time.
The victim, Kyla Cross, 11, of Houston, was transported to an area hospital where she later died.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer J. Crisler reported:
Moses was driving a gray Chevrolet Impala eastbound on the service road of the North Sam Houston Parkway when she failed to stay in a single lane and struck a concrete support pillar. One adult female, 28, and two adult male passengers, 51 and 52, were transported to area hospitals in unknown conditions. Kyla Cross and one other juvenile female, 10, were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Moses was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition. She was determined to be impaired and was subsequently charged.
