Update: Investigation into Human Remains Found at 2900 Katy Freeway
April 29, 2015 - Houston police have learned the identity of a man whose remains were found at 2900 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday (April 26).
An autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences identified the victim as Paul Schrum, 22.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant H. Garcia and Officer J. Horn reported:
Members of Texas EquuSearch were canvassing an area believe the freeway bridge at the above address when they discovered human remains and called police. Investigators arrived and determined the remains were a lower torso of a human.
The autopsy determined Mr. Schrum's identity. His cause of death is still pending. Investigators said his family reported Schrum missing on April 10 and last saw him on his birthday on March 17.
