October 31, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 12200 Fleming about 7:20 p.m. on Thursday (October 30).

The male victim, 6, a pedestrian, was transported to Texas Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant W. Shields and Officer D. Nguyen reported:

The driver of a black GMC pickup truck was driving through the parking lot of an apartment complex at the above address when the victim suddenly ran out from between parked vehicles and was struck by the pickup truck. The child was then taken to the hospital.

The driver, who was not impaired, was questioned and released at the scene.

No charges are filed in the incident. The investigation is continuing.
