October 29, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9500 Kempwood about 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 28).

The male victim, 83, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kung and Officer S. Coke reported:

The victim was crossing Kempwood northbound, without using a crosswalk, when he was struck by a Ford Explorer traveling westbound. The driver of the SUV remained at the scene.

There are no charges in this incident.
