Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 4600 Weaver
October 16, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a man at 4600 Weaver about 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday (October 15).
The suspect, Charles Edward Mayfield (b/m, 60), is charged with murder in the 262nd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Harry Cooper, 56, of Houston, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. Colbert and R. Klementich reported:
Mr. Cooper and Mayfield were at a bus stop at the above address. At some point, for unknown reasons, Mayfield pulled out a knife and stabbed Cooper in the chest. HPD patrol officers responded to the scene and were told by witnesses that Mayfield was still at the location. He was taken into custody without incident and subsequently charged. The weapon was recovered next to Cooper's body.
