October 13, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10700 Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) service road about 10:55 p.m. on Friday (Oct. 10).

The identity of the male victim, 53, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer T. Branford reported:

The victim was driving a tan Toyota Highlander eastbound on the Katy Freeway service road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete support column. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. No other persons nor vehicles were involved in this incident.
