November 24, 2014 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a woman at 6111 Willowbend about 7 p.m. on November 9.
 
The suspect, Brian Castello (H/m, 29), is charged with murder in the 209th State District Court.  He is accused in the death of Damaris Gonzalez, 29, of the above address.  A photo of Castello is attached to this news release.  

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. S. Miller and T. Ferguson reported:  

Family members of Ms. Gonzalez became concerned after they hadn't heard from her.  They went to her apartment and smelled a foul odor when they opened the door.  Upon entering, they found Gonzalez deceased, wrapped in a comforter in a closet.

Further investigation identified Castello, Gonzalez's common-law husband, as the suspect.  He was arrested on November 10 and subsequently charged.
