November 10, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 9700 La Porte Freeway (State Highway 225) about 3:30 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 8).  

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer L. Galvan reported:  

The victim was driving a Dodge pickup truck on the La Porte Freeway and, for unknown reasons, failed to stay in a single lane.  The vehicle left the roadway and struck a large light pole.  The driver died at the scene.  Two passengers in the Dodge were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where doctors said they are expected to survive their injuries.  

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
