January 13, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 18100 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45) about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 11).

The male victim, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer J. Morales reported:  

For unknown reasons, the victim walked onto the northbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway where he was struck by a tan Chevrolet Tahoe and a silver Dodge Ram pickup truck.  Both drivers remained at the scene, were questioned and released.  Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this accident.

There are no charges in this incident.
