February 10, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 11212 Westpark Drive about 5:45 a.m. today.

The identity of the male victim, 19, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant L. Ross and Officer L. Ho reported:

According to a witness, the victim was driving a green Mazda 3 at a high rate of speed westbound on Westpark Drive and failed to stay in a single lane of traffic. The Mazda then struck a tree and a light pole. The victim died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
