December 15, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 7700 South Loop East (South Interstate Highway 610 East) about 11 p.m. last Friday (Dec. 12).

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant T. Trometer and Officer C. Jarboe reported:

The victim was lying on the roadway in moving lanes of traffic. According to a witness, he was first struck by a van and then by a tractor-trailer truck. Neither driver remained at the scene.
