December 1, 2014 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6600 Gulf Freeway about 9 p.m. on Sunday (Nov. 30).

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Senior Police Officer J. Ganoa reported:

The victim was either attempting to cross the Gulf Freeway or walking in the main lanes when she was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling south on the Gulf Freeway. The driver did not stop. A wrecker driver stated his truck also struck the victim. He remained at the scene and was questioned and released.

Anyone with information on the initial vehicle that struck the female is urged to contact the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4065.
