August 4, 2014 - The fatal shooting of a man at 7305 South Gessner about 1:50 a.m. on Sunday (August 3) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
The identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeants M. Brady and J. Robles reported:
The homeowner of the above address was inside his residence when he heard a vehicle crash into his home. The homeowner armed himself with a handgun and went outside to see what happened. He found a female driver, began to render aid to her and called 911.
Unknown to the homeowner, prior to the female having an accident, she was attending a party with her husband. While at the party, the female and her husband became involved in a domestic disturbance and she fled the party in her vehicle. She then lost control of the vehicle and struck the house.
While the homeowner was assisting the female, the female's husband began running down the street toward the female and the homeowner, holding a shiny object in his hand. The homeowner, not knowing the male, ordered him to stop. The male refused to stop and the homeowner, in fear for his safety and the safety of the female, shot the male. The male was struck and transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
