October 7, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident in the 900 block of the North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) about 7:50 p.m. last Saturday (Oct. 5).

The female victim, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Nickerson and Officer J. Best reported:

The driver of a white Chevrolet Trail Blazer was traveling southbound on the North Freeway when, at some point, the female passenger either fell or was pushed from the vehicle. The driver of the Trail Blazer continued southbound on the North Freeway without stopping. The victim was then struck by a white Ford Explorer, driven by a Hispanic female, who continued driving southbound on the North Freeway without stopping. The victim died at the scene.
