May 20, 2013 - Houston police are investigating the apparent drowning of a juvenile male at 9415 Westheimer about 4:10 p.m. on Sunday (May 19).

The identity of the victim, a three-year-old boy, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  He was pronounced dead at Texas Children's Hospital.

HPD Homicide Division Officers V. McLean and E. Zugner reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a drowning call at the Westheimer Terrace apartments at the above address where paramedics were treating the boy.  A neighbor discovered the child in the pool after the child's mother asked for assistance in locating him.  The neighbor performed CPR on the child until HFD paramedics arrived.  HFD personnel then transported the boy to the hospital.

The investigation is continuing and investigators are awaiting autopsy results.
