March 25, 2012 - Houston police have arrested a suspect and are currently seeking a second suspect, both charged in the fatal shooting of a woman at 3300 West Fuqua about 5:15 a.m. on March 17.
Miguel Angel Villafana (H/m, DOB: 12-27-84) is charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. A current photo of Villafana is attached. Victor M. Buenrostro (H/m, DOB: 5-19-82) is also charged with murder in the 208th State District Court. He is currently at-large and a previous photo of Buenrostro is attached to this news release.
Both are accused in the death of Perla Navarro, 22, of Houston, who was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant N. Ruland and Senior Police Officer L. Lovelace reported:
In the early morning on Sunday, March 17, suspect Buenrostro and a witness got into an argument at a local night club. Ms. Navarro and the witness left the night club with another witness in their vehicle. Suspects Villafana and Buenrostro then followed Navarro and the witnesses in Villafana's vehicle. Buenrostro then fired shots into the vehicle the victim and witnesses were driving in. The witness, while attempting to flee, became involved in an accident at the intersection of Chimney Rock and McHard Road. Navarro and one of the witnesses was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital while the witness driving the vehicle was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. Navarro was pronounced dead from injuries received during the accident. The other two witnesses suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Villafana was detained at the location of the traffic accident. Buenrostro fled and is believed to be driving a 2002 green Ford F150 pickup truck with Texas license plates #16V-TL9.
