March 21, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 14300 Hempstead about 5:35 a.m. today (March 21).

The identity of the female victim is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Hall reported:

A gray Toyota Camry and gray Ford Focus were both traveling northbound on Hempstead Highway when the driver of the Toyota struck the back of the Ford.  The driver of the Toyota stated an oncoming vehicle's headlights had impaired his vision and he was not able to see the Ford had stopped to make a left turn.  The Toyota's passenger was transported to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  The investigation is continuing.
