June 24, 2013 - Houston police have arrested a suspect charged in the burglary and assault of a man at 8210 Richmond #16 about 2:40 p.m. on February 14, 2013. The victim later died from his injuries sustained during the incident.
The suspect, Marcus Trahan (b/m, DOB: 1-28-93) was charged with burglary with the intent to commit assault in the 339th State District Court. A photo of Trahan is attached to this news release.
The victim, Ronald Boze, 64, of the above address, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was treated and released. He was later found deceased in his home on April 20, 2013.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant M. Holbrook and Officer E. Zugner reported:
Mr. Boze was at his residence with a friend when Trahan began banging on the apartment door. Boze saw that Trahan was armed with a machete and had his face covered with a bandanna and refused to open the door. Trahan then broke down the door and assaulted Boze with the machete and his fists and threatened the witness. He then fled the apartment and was arrested in the apartment complex by responding HPD officers.
Boze was transported to the hospital where he was treated for large lacerations to his hand and multiple rib fractures and then released. Nine weeks later, Boze was found deceased in his apartment. An autopsy conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined Boze had died as a result of injuries sustained during the assault. Investigators will re-present the case to the Harris County District Attorney's Office in light of the victim's death.
