June 24, 2013 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a woman found at 8800 Gulf Freeway (South Interstate 45) about 11 a.m. Saturday (June 22).

The female, Janice Burns, 47, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. VerSluis and Officer J. Rexroad reported:

Ms. Burns was found unresponsive by her boyfriend unresponsive in the bedroom. The boyfriend stated he and the victim were using narcotics the previous night and the victim had been acting erratically prior to going to bed.

Her cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
