June 20, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 6200 Skyline about 5:10 a.m. today.

The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant A. Francois and Officer C. Long reported:

The victim was driving a silver Mercury C280 at a high rate of speed eastbound on Skyline when he lost control of the vehicle. The Mercury then struck a concrete culvert and burst into flames, killing the victim.

The investigation is continuing.
