Update: Suspect Arrested, Charged in Fatal Stabbing at 2847 Tidewater
February 5, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal stabbing of a woman and the wounding of a child at 2847 Tidewater found about 11:30 p.m. on Sunday (Feb. 3).
The suspect, Lawrence Clinton Chambers (b/m, DOB: 7-25-72), is charged with murder and injury to a child in the 230th State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Jemal Lockridge Chambers, 43, of the above address, and causing blunt force trauma to a 13-year-old boy.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant W. Meeler and Senior Police Officer H. Chavez reported:
Ms. Chambers' daughter arrived home and noticed the house was locked and her mother's car was not in the driveway. The daughter used a key to go inside. She then found her mother and Chambers' son in her bedroom. Chambers was pronounced dead at the scene and her son was transported to Texas Children's Hospital in serious condition.
Further investigation led to the identity of Lawrence Chambers as the suspect in this case. He is Jemal Chambers' husband and stepfather of the injured boy. Chambers was taken into custody without incident on Monday (Feb. 4) and subsequently charged.
