August 23, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 3700 block of Dacoma about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday (Aug. 22).

The male victim, 87, was transpored to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant B. Rogers and Officer R. Klementich reported:

The victim was driving a blue Buick LeSabre eastbound on Dacoma when, for unknown reasons, he drove onto the curb and struck a fire hydrant. The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.

No other vehicles were involved in this accident.
