August 12, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 100 Whitney about 11:30 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 10).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer J. Morales reported:

The victim was driving a black Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck north on Harvard and made a left turn onto Whitney at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which began to slide. The vehicle struck a ditch and the flipped over. The driver, not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

No other vehicles or persons were involved in the accident.
