April 24, 2013 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 10300 South Post Oak Road about 12:45 a.m. on Tuesday (April 23).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Roberts and Officer M. Pritchard reported:

The victim was driving a silver Toyota Corolla the wrong way, southbound in the northbound lanes of South Post Oak, when he lost control of the vehicle. The Toyota swerved into a parking lot, struck a pole and then burst into flames. The victim, who had no identification in his possession, died at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
