September 21, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1900 Clear Lake City Boulevard about 2:25 a.m. today (Sept. 21).

The identity of the male victim, 19, of Friendswood, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer M. Rios reported:

The victim was driving a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck eastbound on Clear Lake City Blvd. when the vehicle struck a median curb and then several trees.  The victim died at the scene.  A male passenger, 19, was transported by Life Flight helicopter in critical condition to Memorial Hermann Hospital.  Doctors said he is expected to survive his injuries.
