October 29, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 1700 Willow Terrace about 11:45 p.m. last Friday (Oct. 26).

The male victim's identity, 16, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer F. Flynn reported:

The victim was driving a silver Saturn Vue southeast on Willow Terrace at a high rate of speed when he failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway, and struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to split in half. A nearby resident heard the crash, called emergency personnel and attempted to render aid to the victim. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
