November 28, 2012 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal traffic accident at 7925 West FM 1960 about 3:25 a.m. today (Nov. 29).
The suspect, Asif Aejaz (A/m, DOB: 7-7-71), is charged with intoxication manslaughter in the 184th State District Court. A photo of Aejaz is attached to this news release.
The identity of the deceased male victim, 35, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant S. Sorge and Officer D. Hussain reported:
The suspect was driving a blue BMW 535i at a high rate of spee on the road that loops around Willowbrook mall. He then lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway and struck a fence with concrete pillars. The front seat passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The rear passenger was transported to Northwest Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The suspect, who was not injured, was taken into custody at the scene and subsequently charged.
