May 25, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic accident at the intersection of Harwin and Fondren about 2:10 a.m. today (May 25).
The male victim, 55, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Thomas and Officer E. Morgado reported:
The driver (suspect) of a silver Nissan Pathfinder ran the red light at the intersection of Harwin and Fondren. The Pathfinder struck a red Nissan truck, traveling northbound on Fondren, killing the driver of the Nissan. The female driver of the Pathfinder then exited the vehicle, checked on the victim and then fled on foot with her male passenger southbound on Fondren.
The suspect, described only as a Hispanic female, 20 to 25 years of age, remains at large.
