May 21, 2012 - Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 2417 Turner about 1:30 a.m. on Sunday (May 20).

The victim, Darwin Roberson, 51, of the above address, suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhoads and Senior Police Officer M. Miller reported:

Mr. Roberson was walking to a convenience store when he was confronted by two suspects at the end of his driveway.  Roberson, who was unarmed, attempted to flee.  The suspects, armed with assault rifles, fired several times, striking Roberson in the back. Roberson collapsed in his yard and was pronounced dead by responding HFD paramedics.  The suspects fled the scene.
