July 24, 2012 - A woma critically injured in a traffic accident in the 1000 block of South Wayside about 10:50 p.m. on July 8 has died from her injuries.

The female victim, 73, was pronounced dead at Ben Taub General Hospital last Friday (July 20).  Her identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Senior Police Officer J. Gaona reported:

The victim was driving a white Dodge Ram Charger northbound in the 1000 block of South Wayside when she changed lanes abruptly and nearly collided with another vehicle.  The driver of the other vehicle honked at the victim, who then overcorrected and lost control of her truck.  The Dodge then left the road and hit a fence and tree.  Paramedics transported the woman to the hospital.
