August 8, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 2600 block of Jensen about 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday (Aug. 7).

The male victim, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Kung and Officer S. Kong reported:

The victim was riding a bicycle westbound at the intersection of Jensen and Newhoff when he failed to the yield the right of way leaving a stop sign and was struck by the driver of a white Lincoln LS, traveling northbound on Jensen. The driver remained at the scene and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
