August 3, 2012 - The fatal shooting of a suspect at 11526 Misty Glen Lane at 5:45 a.m. today (Aug. 3) will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.

The suspect, Kyle Miller Jones, 25, of Pearland, suffered gunshot wounds to his upper body and was transported to Southwest Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The male resident was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Senior Police Officer C. Abbey reported:

The male resident was asleep at the above address when he heard the sound of breaking glass and went outside armed with a pistol. He was then confronted by Jones, who was standing in the resident's driveway, next to his vehicle that had a broken windown. Jones was armed with a shovel. When Jones turned towards him, the resident then discharged his weapon several times.
