Investigation into Remains Found at 100 Detering
August 2, 2012 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results on remains found in the 100 block of Detering about 2:50 p.m. on Wednesday (Aug. 1).
The unidentified remains will be examined by the Harris County Institue of Forensic Sciences to determine age, race and gender.
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Officer C. Cardenas reported:
A construction crew was excavating a work site at the above address when one of the workers found what were believed to be human bones. HPD patrol officers and homicide investigators were then called to the scene. An anthropologist also called to the scene confirmed the remains were human. A team from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences is expected to return to the location to conduct a thorough search for more remains.
The investigation is continuing.
