August 1, 2012 - The fatal shooting of a burglary suspect at 7520 Tidwell about 12:50 a.m. on Tuesday (July 31) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the suspect, 22, who was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital and died, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The male shooter, 36, was not injured in this incident.

HPD Homicide Division Senior Police Officer T. Andrade and Officer J. Horn reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a burglary of a business at the above location. When officers arrived, they learned a male, who was believed to be securing the premises, had shot an unknown male suspect who had entered the premises illegally. The suspect was then transported to the hospital. The shooter was questioned and released at the scene.
