April 20, 2012 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident at 23600 Fairlake Lane about 11 p.m. on Thursday (April 19).

The male victim, 20, of Houston, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Izaguirre and Officer A. Hart reported:

The victim was operating a red Honda 1000 motorcycle at a high rate of speed southbound on Fairlake. The driver of a gray Mitsubishi Montero was eastbound at a stop sign at the intersection of Page and Fairlake. As the Montero turned left onto Fairlake, the vehicle was struck by the motorcycle. The victim died at the scene and the driver of the Montero was not injured.

There are no indications alcohol was a factor in the accident. No charges have been filed at this time.
