September 6, 2011 - Houston police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in the 4900 block of West Bellfort about 12:20 a.m. on Sunday (Sept. 4).
The male victim, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Arnold and Officer J. Perrotte reported:
According to witnesses, a black Toyota Corolla, a maroon Lincoln Mark pickup truck and a silver Toyota Sequoia were stopped at a red light, eastbound on the South Post Oak Boulevard service road. A male driving a maroon Ford F-150 pickup truck at a high rate of speed eastbound on West Bellfort struck the rear of the Sequoia and the Lincoln. The Lincoln traveled about 400 feet and came to a stop in the far right lane and a sidewalk on the westbound side of West Bellfort. The Ford stopped underneath South Post Oak with the Sequoia. The driver of the Ford died at the scene. Four occupants from the Lincoln and two from the Sequoia were transported to area hospitals in stable condition. Both occupants of the Corolla were treated and released at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.
