October 24, 2011 - Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of an infant girl at 12131 Sherrill Drive about 9:25 a.m. on Sunday (Oct. 23).

Adriana Kay Mata, 6 months, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her cause of death will be determined by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant G. Gonzales and Senior Police Officer X. Avila reported:

Baby Adriana's mother told police she woke up Sunday morning and found her daughter unresponsive. She called 911 and responding paramedics pronounced Adriana dead. There were no apparent signs of injury.

The investigation is continuing.
