October 10, 2011 - Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in the fatal shooting of a man at 501 Greens Road about 11:40 p.m. on June 14.

Christopher Andrew Jackson (b/m, DOB: 11-30-90) is charged with murder in the 263rd State District Court. He is accused in the killing of Chase Angelo Hawkins, 20, of the above address, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the back and died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant A. Semmelrock and Senior Police Officer C. Abbey reported:

Mr. Hawkins left his friend's apartment at the Durham at City View Apartment Complex, at the above address, to meet another friend. Shortly after exiting the apartment, Hawkins was shot and then chased to the 100 bock of Green Chase Drive, where he was found. Witnesses reported seeing a white or tan colored, four-door, older model Buick or Cadillac fleeing the location westbound on Greens Road.

Further investigation identified Christopher Jackson as the shooter. He was arrested last Friday (Oct. 7) without incident. Investigators received additional information indicating Jackson may have been involved in several robberies in the FM 1960 / State Highway 249 area.
