HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Bearden and Officer N. Rosenblatt reported:
Trumpower was driving a black Jaguar X-Type northbound on the North Freeway and approaching Patton. All northbound traffic was stopped due to two separate traffic accidents being investigated on the North Freeway at Cavalcade. The suspect attempted to drive between two vehicles, a silver Lincoln MKX and a green Toyota Camry. The impact of striking the vehicles killed his front passenger. Trumpower was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital for treatment and a mandatory blood test. Investigators detected alcohol at the crash scene. Charges were then filed on Trumpower.
A 26-year-old female backseat passenger in the Lincoln was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
